Ph.D. student position in Transporter Biochemistry

A funded Ph.D. student position (50-65% TVL E13, depending on skill level) is available in the group of PD Dr. Ulrich Hammes at the Chair of Plant Systems Biology at the School of Life Sciences at TUM in Freising-Weihenstephan.

The Hammes lab seeks a highly motivated Ph.D. student to study various transporters from plants. We want to understand the transport mechanisms and properties of hormone and assimilate transporters. A strong background in protein expression and purification as well as enzyme kinetics or electrophysiology to characterize transporters are indispensable.

The successful candidate will also perform state-of-the art microscopy and an interest in cell biology is expected. A general interest in plant physiology and biology is desired. Through the SFB924 and other collaborative efforts the laboratory also has strong ties with the LMU Munich and the University of Regensburg.

Please send a letter of motivation and CV in a single PDF to: ulrich.hammes[at]tum.de

The position is available immediately and remains open until filled.
